Fresh Start have just taken delivery of the latest vehicle in their fleet. It’s a versatile Scania, capable of carrying a capacity of up to 11 tonnes of waste on each round. As with all of our new wagons, this new delivery honours someone close to the heart of the company.

Megan Wharmby is a Traffic Controller who has been an integral part of Fresh Start for the past three years. In fact, she has made such an impression that we feel this is the ultimate way to immortalise her into the history of the company.

The great FS Waste bake off raising money on St. George’s day for Cancer Research

We’d like to thank all the competitors for taking part in this year’s Great FS Waste Bake Off, where we feel an extremely high bar has been set ahead of the next edition. Most importantly, though, we managed to raise £200.00 for Cancer Research UK.

A report by Which? revealed that plastic and cardboard packaging is around a quarter of the total weight of Easter eggs. The outer packaging of one of the Top 10-selling brands tipping the scales at 152g of a 418g product (or 36.4%).

Pizza boxes. They’re cardboard, so they’re recyclable, right? Well, that’s only partially true, and despite what some reports would have you believe, you can recycle plenty of pizza boxes. Takeaway pizza boxes are indeed cardboard, an almost universally recycled material.
