Blackburn and Burnley gets a ‘Fresh’ approach to waste management
To all of us at Fresh Start Waste Services, being progressive means listening to the market and acting upon it. That’s exactly what we were doing in January when we added additional waste collection days for Blackburn, Burnley and surrounding areas.
It was a natural progression for Fresh Start to increase capacity following the news of Whites Recycling going into liquidation. Headquartered in Eccles, Whites Recycling traded as Bin Xpress and Enviroskips, having purchased the Burnley based business last year. Operating three mobile compaction vehicles, their loyal client base was left with overflowing bins when the unexpected news hit.
Early last week calls started to come through to our Manchester Head Office seeking assistance. For us to cope with the demand, we immediately added in emergency collections and increased capacity to manage requirements going forward.
As a company, Fresh Start has the flexibility to adapt, evolve and move quickly when needs arise. Accompanied with an ingrained understanding of what it means to provide reliable service, ensures this family run business know what matters.
The Operations Director of Fresh Start had this to say in regards to the expansion:
“The positive thing for us is that we’re strengthening our waste collection services in Blackburn and Burnley. Due to the void created by the demise of White Recycling, an opportunity has arisen to offer increased collection days and introduce new recycling collection services, including glass” – Joe Rogers, Operations Director.
The last ten years have seen Fresh Start move from a waste collector singularly operating within Manchester City Centre with 2 wagons, to one with an operator’s licence for 22 covering the North West. The waste streams being collected have also diversified to include; food waste, glass, wood, metal, card, paper, mixed recyclables and general waste.
