Hospitality waste and recycling collector of choice Fresh Start Waste have made a generous donation of over £2000 to national industry charity, Hospitality Action as part of their ongoing programme of support for the charity.

North West based, family-run Fresh Start work with thousands of hospitality venues across the North West to develop sustainable waste management programmes. This work sees waste produced by restaurants, bars, hotels, pubs and large venues segregated into separate bins, and then separately collected by twin bodied environmentally friendly trucks by carbon conscious Fresh Start Waste. It is then taken to their state-of-the-art recycling centre for further sorting and onward recycling.

Hospitality Action are a national charity who support all job roles within the hospitality industry.  This includes hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, cafés, and also schools, hospitals and event venues with catering facilities. Hospitality Action gives them the help and advice they need whenever times get tough.

Nicola McGrath CEO at Fresh Start Waste said “During the pandemic we stood by our hospitality customers and offered them the flexibility they needed in line with the ever changing Government guidelines/rules.   We wanted to support Hospitality Action who have helped thousands of families put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads during this difficult period. They also provide a safety net for hospitality retirees facing isolation and they’ve worked hard to protect the mental and emotional wellbeing of those most vulnerable across UK hospitality.”

Sean Martins, Commercial Manager at Fresh Start Waste said “As we work with so many businesses in the hospitality sector, we wanted to show our support for the excellent work that Hospitality Action do.  We started with an initial contribution to the charity and this is being followed with additional donations for every hospitality contract choosing us to supply their waste and recycling service.”

Astrid Wears-Taylor, Fundraising and Events Director, commented, “We thank Fresh Start for their ongoing support. It’s been a difficult period for many in the industry and, prior to the introduction of furlough, we launched an emergency appeal and grant to provide relief for people who had found themselves suddenly unemployed. Within a few hours we received an unprecedented level of applications for support. We have remained active throughout the pandemic, adopting our service provision and operations to meet the demands of an industry in crisis. We are committed to continuing to support the industry as we move into 2022, and it’s thanks to organisations like Fresh Start and their support that we are able to do this.”
