Fresh Start Waste’s committed team have supported their client, Bruntwood in their endeavours to improve the outside space at the Seashell Trust.

As a family business with a great culture of caring for staff, the environment and the local community, a team of Fresh Start staff took part in a sponsored dress down day. The session was in partnership with Fresh Start Waste’s client, Bruntwood, in order to raise funds in support of a programme that Bruntwood champion for the Seashell Trust. Money raised will support a programme of works to improve the outdoor space at the Cheadle Hulme Seashell Trust site.

Seashell Trust is a national charity who are proud to have Her Majesty the Queen as Patron.  Seashell supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional communication needs from across the UK.  They provide education, care and support for people aged from 2 to 25 years, at their outstanding school and college, their residential homes and through their community facilities.

Wendy Bray, Fundraising Manager at Seashell said “We are so grateful for the materials and it has made a massive difference to that area of our campus.”

Sean Martins, Commercial Manager at Fresh Start commented “It’s great to work alongside customers such as Bruntwood who proactively go above and beyond supporting local charities such as the Seashell Trust. We are a friendly bunch at Fresh Start, and it is ingrained in our culture to want to give something back, so when a sponsored dress down day was suggested, the team jumped at the opportunity to assist.

We all know the benefit to mental health of getting fresh air in a pleasant environment, and no more so than to the visitors to Seashell, many of whom have complex learning difficulties, disabilities, and additional communication needs. We’re proud to have played a small part in assisting with improving the outdoor space at Seashell with the funds we raised and encourage other businesses to follow suit.”
