Fresh Start are hugely proud to introduce the 29th vehicle to our cutting edge fleet of waste wagons. So proud, in fact, that we’ve decided to name the latest one after one of the North West’s most successful athletes, Agnieska Gorzynska.
Agy is the 2016 World Arm Wrestling champion, 5x reigning British champion, and double winner of the World Arm Wrestling League among dozens of other tournament triumphs and podium places.
We have sponsored Agy and the Leigh Pulling Power club which she represents for the past 3 years, and see naming this landmark member of our stable after her as a fitting tribute to the unassuming security guard, who was a VIP guest at the 2016 BBC Sports Personality Of The Year awards.
Our wagons are usually named after relatives, but this is the perfect way of breaking with tradition.
Nicola McGrath, Fresh Start’s CEO and co-founder says: “It’s been a fantastic way of celebrating our partnership with Agnieska. We’ve supported her as a business for the past three years, so it seems only right to name one of our wagons after her as she has formed part of our Fresh Start family.”
As one of the fastest growing and most trusted names in waste management in the region, it’s absolutely imperative that we stay at the forefront of this ever-changing landscape.
Nicola McGrath: “Using the latest technology within our fleet is really important to us as we take very seriously our environmental responsibilities and closely monitor our carbon footprint.”
We have invested heavily in our collection wagons since forming in 2006, and Agy’s namesake is a Volvo FM12 equipped with the latest Euro 6 compliant engine, with capacity for 13,000Kg of waste inside its 32 cubic yard compaction body.
Agy G – the wagon – has already begun to make her first set of rounds, with fuel efficient collection routes around Stockport, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
What does Agy G – the arm wrestler – make of it?
“Fresh Start have supported me through it all, with international and domestic competitions. This is a recognition of my sporting achievements and a great way for the company to continue with their sponsorship.”
We will, of course, be keeping our strong relationship with Agnieska as she looks forward to another successful season on the arm wrestling circuit, where she aims to become world champion once again in 2018.
